AFSCME Local 1369 Members At Barre City DPW Ratify 3 Year Agreement With 15.95% Raises +1.5% Bonus & Right To Strike For ULP Enforcement

AFSCME LOCAL 1369 MEMBERS AT BARRE CITY DPW RATIFY 3 YEAR AGREEMENT WITH 15.95% RAISES +1.5% BONUS & RIGHT TO STRIKE FOR ULP ENFORCEMENT  

The Vermont AFL-CIO is happy to report that members of AFSCME Local 1369, Barre City Department of Public Works employees, have ratified a new three year Collective Bargaining Agreement which includes the following improvements:

* Total average wage increase (COLA, step, increased step value) over three years is 15.95% (if you include the bonus, it would be 17.45%);* 5% COLA each year of the CBA;* 1.5% bonus upon ratification to help off-set inflation;* Slight increase in Step values (first 5 years value of step goes from 10 cents to 12 cents an hour, years thereafter go from .08 cents to .10 cents an hour);* On-call pay for Waterplant and Wastewater Plant goes from $17 per day to $30 per day (phased in over the three years);* Minimum pay for a call out was two hours at time and a half rates.  New agreement pays three hours if the task is longer than two hours, but less than three;* Comptime max up from 80 hours to 120 hours; * Union's right to charge a fee for service recognized for non-members/scabs;* Union gains legal right to strike mid-contract if Labor Board orders a ULP related corrective action by employer, and if employer fails to carry out said order;

The Vermont AFL-CIO congratulates Chapter Chair Russell Tucker, Steward Jake Drown, the Bargaining Team and Local 1369 members for securing another solid Union contract and once again showing THERE IS POWER IN THE UNION!
